STM Year-End Giving Campaign

Support STM Students!

As the holiday season approaches, St. Thomas More invites you to join us in celebrating the transformative power of Catholic education.

This year, STM is asking for your help as we focus our fundraising efforts on three key priorities:
  1. Nurturing Catholic Identity: Strengthening our faith-based programming, including student retreats, theology courses, and campus ministry.
  2. Supporting Student Scholarships: Providing financial aid to deserving students, offering an essential lifeline to children who might otherwise fall through the cracks.
  3. Enhancing the Arts: Converting our auditorium into a comprehensive Fine Arts Center, expanding our academic curriculum, and establishing a fine arts advisory position.

Because STM is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, all donations to the school are tax-deductible. STM's Tax ID / Employer Identification Number (EIN) is 39-116083. Thank you for your support!

Funding Opportunities

  • Nurturing Catholic Identity

For nearly 150 years, STM and its predecessor schools have provided students with a compassionate and transformative Catholic education that prepares them for lasting success in the next stages of their lives. Guided by this experience and tradition, STM ensures that God’s presence exists ubiquitously throughout the school, both inside and outside the classroom.

All STM students must take four years of theology, advancing their knowledge not only about the Catholic faith but also about other religions. Students also study the many intersections between theology and other academic subjects, such as biology and social sciences, helping them better understand the role of faith and spirituality in contemporary society.
  • Supporting Student Scholarships

Donor-funded scholarships make a St. Thomas More education possible for more families. While STM participates in the Choice program, student demand greatly exceeds the number of available seats. Each year, STM receives about four applications for each open Choice spot. Low- and middle-income families who are not selected in the Choice drawing—or are ineligible for the program because of residency or other state—depend on grants and scholarships from St. Thomas More to afford the rising cost of four years of Catholic secondary education.

Of the STM students who do not receive funding through Choice, over 95 percent benefit from scholarship assistance provided by STM and its generous donors.
  • Enhancing the Arts / Arts. For All Seasons. Campaign

Fine arts play an integral role in enriching the lives of STM students, promoting creativity, self-expression, and cultural appreciation. A transformative fine arts curriculum helps students enhance their critical thinking skills while teaching them to identify hidden, contextualized themes and lessons. Fine arts can also improve students’ mental health and inspire them to take a more active role in their education, sparking an interest in school that may not exist with core subjects like math and English.

Arts. For All Seasons. is a comprehensive campaign designed to elevate and expand the STM fine arts. This ambitious initiative aims to empower students, enhance academic performance, encourage community, and enrich the cultural landscape of Milwaukee’s south side.

  • General Operations / Greatest Need

The backbone of STM’s fundraising efforts, the General Operating Fund touches all aspects of the school community. By supporting the General Operations, you help us expand our course offerings, strengthen academic standards, upgrade infrastructure and technology, modernize athletic facilities, and offer more financial aid to families in need.

Double Your Donation!

Did you know that many employers will match charitable contributions made by their employees and their spouses—and for some companies, their retirees as well?

To request a matching gift, ask your human resources or community relations office about your company’s matching gift guidelines and process. They may provide you with a form to complete and send to STM, or they may have an online program. If your employer is eligible, the impact of your gift may be doubled or even tripled!

For more information about matching gifts, contact Kevin Russell at krussell@tmore.org.
St. Thomas More is a Catholic, coeducational high school that inspires students to embrace the values of our Patron Saint by becoming men and women for all seasons. Rooted in Christ and the Catholic tradition, the school community embodies the principles of Christian discipleship, service to others, and academic excellence.
