Mission

St. Thomas More High School Counseling Staff is a systematic and comprehensive school counseling program that is whole-student focused. Driven by data, our proactive program is delivered with intention to ensure every student is receiving a rigorous and equitable education. Through such services as collaborations, counseling, and action planning, our team focuses on addressing students’ academic, college and career needs while also aiding in their social/emotional development.

Vision

As a whole-student focused School Counseling Program, students will graduate from St. Thomas More High School feeling empowered to act autonomously and able to overcome any challenge before them.

We Believe

  • All students have strengths, can achieve high-expectations, and can reach their fullest potential.
  • All students have the right to an education in a student-centered environment that focuses on equitable learning and meeting each student’s unique needs.
  • All students deserve to be treated with the utmost respect and dignity no matter their race or ethnicity, religion, socio-economic background, sexual orientation, or other distinguishing factors. All students are accepted and loved for who they are, where they come from, and the worldview they possess.
  • All students should have opportunities to prepare for postsecondary and career options.
  • School counselors are an integral part of St. Thomas More High School’s continued progress towards high academic expectations and whole student development.
  • An effective school counseling program is student data-driven and delivered in a purposeful and systematic fashion.
