Leonard Gigowski

L E O N A R D   G I G O W S K I
Leonard Gigowski graduated from St. Francis Minor Seminary, a predecessor school to St. Thomas More, in 1943. After graduating, Leonard spent several years in the US Navy, including serving in World War II. After his time in the military, he returned to Milwaukee and enjoyed success as an entrepreneur. Leonard remained active in his alma mater, winning our highest honor, the Chancellor Award, in 2010. Leonard passed away in July 2015, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, devotion to his faith, and philanthropy in the community.
As one of the most passionate supporters of St. Thomas More High School, Leonard truly believed that a Catholic well-rounded education can transform the lives of young people. This gift ensures that your students will be able to enjoy a transformative Catholic high school education for many years to come.

Established in 2016, the Leonard Gigowski Scholarship Fund awards more than $500,000 annually in financial aid to St. Thomas More students. Through the Gigowski Scholarship Fund, over 150 students across all grade levels receive one-half- and one-third-tuition scholarships to help reduce the burden of tuition on their families. Gigowski Scholars must exhibit a continuous pursuit of academic excellence and growth, strong character traits, significant community involvement, and a need for financial assistance.
