MORE Leadership

Leadership is a skill, and skills need to be taught, practiced, and learned. MORE Leadership provides our entire school with opportunities to learn, grow, and develop into better leaders, and these leadership skills can then be applied in all areas of our lives. MORE Leadership is an outlet for students to tap into the leadership skills they have but might not know how to use.

MORE Leadership aims to build hardworking, resilient leaders who demonstrate success in all aspects of their lives while encouraging and setting an example for their peers.

The program consists of the Health & Leadership class, bi-monthly leadership workshops, and the MORE Leadership Council.

Students enrolled in health classes learn about leadership as a part of the course curriculum. In Health & Leadership class, students analyze, discuss, and learn not only about adolescent health issues but also about leadership theory, concepts, and skills.

Leadership workshops are offered two times per month during the school’s Enrichment Period. All students are required to attend at least two workshops a semester. Workshop sessions expand on lessons from the Health & Leadership course while allowing for more practical application of what students learned in the classroom.

Nominated by teachers, coaches, and staff, the MORE Leadership Council provides a direct connection between the Leadership Coordinator and the student body. Council members analyze and evaluate MORE Leadership, discussing ways to improve the program. Council members also lead MORE Leadership workshops and help develop additional leadership opportunities to supplement MORE Leadership.
