Huennekens Family Makes Transformational Gift to Arts. For All Seasons. Campaign
Milwaukee, WI (February 26, 2025) — St. Thomas More High School (STM) is honored to announce a generous $50,000 gift from longtime supporters Gregg (Don Bosco ’65), Clairese (St. Mary’s Academy ’66), and Margaret Huennekens in support of the Arts. For All Seasons. campaign. With this latest contribution, their total giving to STM has now surpassed $800,000, cementing their incredible legacy of generosity and commitment to our students and school community.
The
Arts. For All Seasons. campaign will transform St. Thomas More’s fine arts program by
renovating the auditorium into a state-of-the-art Guszkowski Fine Arts Center, expanding curriculum offerings, and enhancing arts education opportunities for all students. Gregg and Margaret’s unwavering support for STM has already impacted generations of students, and this new gift will help ensure that the fine arts continue to thrive at our school for years to come.
A Legacy of Giving
Gregg and Margaret Huennekens have also served as valued members of the Arts. For All Seasons. campaign committee, playing an instrumental role in guiding and shaping this transformational initiative.
The Huennekens have been dedicated benefactors of St. Thomas More High School, consistently investing in initiatives that enrich the student experience. Their generosity includes:
- Underwriting the May Murphy Thibaudeau Writing Awards Luncheon and Scholarships – Supporting young writers in developing their talents and recognizing literary excellence.
- Providing Yearly Support for the Senior Trip to the Milwaukee Repertory Theater – Giving students access to professional performing arts through Giving Tuesday donations.
- Establishing the Clairese Thibaudeau Huennekens Scholarship – An endowed scholarship in honor of Gregg’s late wife, providing tuition assistance for deserving students.
- Significant Contributions to STM’s Dinner Auction and Golf Outing – Supporting vital fundraising events that sustain and enhance the school’s mission.
- Regular Contributions to MORE Robotics and STM Boys and Girls Golf – Encouraging innovation and athletic development among students.
- A Major Contribution to STM’s Gymnasium – A transformational gift over 20 years ago that led to the gym being named in honor of Gregg’s brother, Jerry (DB ’54).
A Lasting Impact
“St. Thomas More High School holds a special place in our hearts,” said Gregg and Margaret. “We believe in the power of a well-rounded education, and the arts play a critical role in developing creativity, confidence, and critical thinking in students. It is our hope that this gift will help ensure that future generations have the opportunity to experience the joy and enrichment that the arts bring to education.”
“Gregg, Clairese, and Margaret Huennekens embody the spirit of giving and the enduring power of Catholic education,” said STM President John Hoch. “Their generosity has shaped the STM experience for countless students, and this latest gift to Arts. For All Seasons. will ensure that our fine arts program continues to inspire creativity and excellence.
