Dancing with St. Thomas More: A New Partnership with DanceWorks

St. Thomas More strives to provide our students with new and enriching experiences that extend beyond the classroom. As part of our ongoing effort to expand our fine arts program, we have partnered with DanceWorks, a Milwaukee-based nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing the joy, health, and creativity of the community through dance.
This exciting partnership was born out of a shared goal: to give students access to high-quality dance education and to inspire them to explore the world of the arts. With over 30 years of experience, DanceWorks programs and classes are dedicated to helping every student of the arts to reach their full potential.
A Dance Sampler for Our Students
Through this collaboration, DanceWorks currently offers our students an array of dance styles to choose from including Tap, Hip Hop, Latin, and Jazz.
We’re incredibly fortunate to have some of DanceWorks' finest instructors leading these sessions, including Gabi Sustache, the studio education director, who is teaching tap and hip-hop. Other DanceWorks instructors like Katie and Gina are teaching Latin dance and jazz, respectively. This gives our students a taste of various dance styles, exposing them to the wide range of possibilities in the dance world.
Empowering STM Through Dance
From the first classes, our students have demonstrated enthusiasm and openness toward this new experience. As Gabi Sustache shared, "I was blown away... I’ve never had a group of students so willing to dive into hip-hop and just try it without any fears or reservations. I'm hoping that the students that we're working with here at St. Thomas More, feel the same way... maybe they're more drawn to the arts and who knows, it could be something that they pursue a career in as well." This willingness to embrace the unknown is exactly the kind of energy we want to foster in our students, not just in dance but in all areas of life.
Looking Ahead: A Bright Future for Dance and the Arts
This collaboration is just the beginning. As DanceWorks continues to work with our students, we hope to build on this foundation, offering more opportunities for students to explore dance and other fine arts. We’re proud to be a part of a movement that prioritizes arts education and excited to see how our students grow through these experiences.
DanceWorks has been instrumental in making this vision a reality, and we look forward to expanding this partnership in the years to come. As Gabi shared, "DanceWorks is thrilled to be working with St. Thomas More, and we really hope that we can continue this partnership."
