2023 Winter Art Show

Aubrey Koch

Most people see art at Its surface, as the pretty on the paper. However, it is more than that. Arthas always held a place in my life. Truly it began with my grandma. She taught me the basics of painting and drawing. And from a young age she taught me to have an emotional connection with the art I create. Because of her influence, my AP Studio work has largely been based on my stories with her.

Over the course of this semester, I have explored a wide variety of media. I create works with oilpaint, ink, watercolor, and acrylic paint. I found that my favorite to work with is acrylic paint, oil pain, andink. To further push the boundaries of the media, I decided to experiment and combine them into onework. Doing this more clearly showed the story I was attempting to portray in my works.
