Fr. Tom Wittliff Scholarship Fund
/  Fr. Tom Wittliff Scholarship Fund

The Fr. Tom Wittliff Scholarship Fund was established in Fall 2014 when Fr. Tom (SF ’55) was inducted into St. Thomas More High School’s Alumni Hall of Fame. The fund helps provide need-based scholarship for STM students.

Fr. Thomas Wittliff graduated from St. Francis Minor Seminary in 1955 and has   dedicated most of his life to ministry on the south side of Milwaukee earning the nickname “Bishop of Bay View.” Fr. Tom is one of the most beloved members of the St. Thomas More High School family. His impact on past, present, and future generations cannot be measured, but is deeply treasured.

In May 2014, Fr. Tom celebrated the 50th anniversary of his ordination into the priesthood, and 2015 will mark 60 years since his graduation from high school.

When asked to reflect upon his service to the youth of St. Thomas More High School, Fr. Tom simply stated that “it has been a wonderful opportunity to be a priest.” Over the years Fr. Tom has officiated, with a perfect balance of humility and humor, at countless alumni weddings as well as the baptisms of their children.

Congratulations to the Cavalier Powerlifting Team! On Saturday, seven Cavaliers competed in a powerlifting meet at Cudahy High School. Five of the seven athletes medaled, and two of those students are going to state!

“Coach Litscher and I are proud of these student athletes for the hard work and dedication to training," said powerlifting coach and STM science teacher Mike Fricke. "Strength training has a unique way of instilling confidence and growth in young men and women, and in the end that is the most important outcome anyone would want of our students at St. Thomas More High School.”

Stay tuned for more updates on our powerlifting team as some of them compete in Germantown in February and then at the state meet in Appleton on March 2 and 3.
