Anime Club
 /  Anime Club

Anime: A style of cartoons that originated in Japan and has become heavily popular worldwide.  The biggest difference between anime and American cartoons is that Anime has many different genres that have a story to it, and is made for a variety of audiences.

Anime Club is a club to let out your inner nerd! Anyone who is interested in Anime, Manga, video games, TV shows, comics, and so much more, should join. Anime Club discusses or watches a different anime every week, getting a feel for the different stories and appreciating how the makers created their stories and their art.  Watching different Animes has even sparked the imagination of our club members, helping them think more creatively.  There are also some fun events we hold for the school.  We hold a video game tournament and sell baked goods to raise money for Relay for Life.  We have many more ideas that we hope to try out in the future!

We also do fun things that Anime lovers do, such as attending the annual Anime Milwaukee Convention.  There, one can dress as their favorite characters and mingle with people who enjoy anime.  To sum it up, Anime Club is a place for fun – a place where you can be free to let out that inner geeky side and not be judged – a place to make new friends!

Try it out and join Anime Club!

Congratulations to the Cavalier Powerlifting Team! On Saturday, seven Cavaliers competed in a powerlifting meet at Cudahy High School. Five of the seven athletes medaled, and two of those students are going to state!

“Coach Litscher and I are proud of these student athletes for the hard work and dedication to training," said powerlifting coach and STM science teacher Mike Fricke. "Strength training has a unique way of instilling confidence and growth in young men and women, and in the end that is the most important outcome anyone would want of our students at St. Thomas More High School.”

Stay tuned for more updates on our powerlifting team as some of them compete in Germantown in February and then at the state meet in Appleton on March 2 and 3.
