Faith & Service Trips
 /  Faith & Service Trips

St. Thomas More offers students the opportunity to participate in three different faith and service trips over the summer. These trips are designed to inspire spiritual growth and relationship building with classmates and staff.

Steubenville Youth Conference

Steubenville Youth Conferences draw around 50,000 teens a year across 19 sites and 24 combined weekends throughout the United States.  The conferences feature dynamic, nationally-known speakers, moving music, and powerful prayer times.  Depending on the location, conferences draw anywhere from 500 to 5,000 high school students.  For many, this is the most Catholic teenagers students will see all together in their lifetime!  St. Thomas More has brought a group of students for past four years in partnership with the Basilica of St. Josaphat.

Mission Trip

There is distinct need for mission work in Milwaukee, but for some students the deeper conviction of the necessity of service happens far from home, in a totally unique environment.  On the mission trip, students are forced outside of their comfort zone to encounter the needs of another.  Immersed in the community served, students grow in their faith while offering direct service to the poor and marginalized.  Past summer mission trip locations have included Philadelphia, the Quad Cities in Iowa and Illinois, and General Cepeda, Mexico.

Italy Pilgrimage

The Italy Pilgrimage is more than a vacation to simply “sight-see”!  It’s an opportunity to see & experience life in a new way.  STM partners with Franciscan Pilgrimage Programs for this once-in-a-lifetime event.  Trained guides from Franciscan religious orders lead us through key sites of significance to St. Francis and St. Clare of Assisi.  Students wind through the medieval alleyways of Assisi, hike the wooded hillsides of the Rieti valley, and walk the bustling streets of Rome.

St. Thomas More High School

Father Christopher (TM '95) visited Lumen Christi yesterday! Read the full post below.

Lumen Christi Catholic School
Today our second grade students welcomed Father Christopher Klusman into their classroom. Father Christopher is the Chaplain at St. Thomas More High School, and is one of only 13 deaf priests in the world. The students learned a lot about Father Christopher's experience as a deaf child and priest. They also shared with him their "Hail Mary" song which they have been learning to sign for both the Feast of the Immaculate Conception and their First Communion.
Read more about Fr. Christopher at archive.jsonline.com/news/religion/127716843.html. It was truly a blessing to have him share his story with our students. See the comments for some pics from the visit.

Support STM this #GivingTuesday! On Tuesday, November 27, STM will join the global non-profit community by participating in Giving Tuesday, the global day of giving. Because of your support for last year’s Giving Tuesday campaign, STM was able to purchase interactive Smart Boards for each of our classrooms, and this year, we are asking for your support to upgrade technology in the Jerry Huennekens Gymnasium. For this year’s campaign, STM is requesting donations to purchase a high-definition projector and large display screen for the gymnasium, drastically improving the quality of our all-school assemblies and Masses. As you can see in the video below from last week’s Veterans Day assembly, our out-of-date projector and small screen do not match the high caliber of our speaker system or the size of our typical audience. Will you support STM this #GivingTuesday, helping us raise at least $6,300 for these much-needed improvements? ... See MoreSee Less
