2019 Run for Lungs 5k
 /  2019 Run for Lungs 5k

STM is a very close community that focuses on leadership through our servant leadership program. Tony and Melissa are former STM students that returned to STM the past few years to share their story and have given the Junior class a project that can make a big difference. Tony had suffered from cystic fibrosis for most of his life until a few years ago when he received a lung transplant. Now Tony and Melissa are working to establish a $1 million endowment fund in Tony’s name at UW Health. If the Arenas family raises 500,000 dollars for the grant, donors from UW Madison will match the donation. The grant would allow Tony’s surgeon, Dr. James Maloney, to receive around $50,000 a year to conduct transplant research. The Jr. class project aims to help the Arenas family reach this goal, but it can’t be done without support from the community!
