Don Bosco 1962 Baseball

Catholic Conference Champions

Coached by Jim Haluksa, the Diamond Dons steamrolled their way to the conference crown and were unbeaten in their first nine games. Bosco relied on the strong arms and blazing fastball of Jim Peters, Jeff Redman on the mound, and the bats of John Zanotti and Ken Bellanti. The Bosco ‘9’ bested the likes of Waukesha Catholic Memorial and Notre Dame, and tied 1-1 to Pius XI. Other players that contributed to the championship were first baseman Jim Herda, second baseman Bob Barczak, and outfielder Bob Kopecky.
