Catholic Conference Champions

Brother Robert Skloss and Coach Clem Massey swung the fungo bat for The Dons of the Diamond as they took home the hardware in the Catholic Conference to ring in the decade of champions in style. Bosco had an impressive team batting average of .366 heading into the state tournament. Tom Sager led the Dons in runs scored, crossing the plate 11 times. Jim Mudlaff had nine runs and led the team in stolen bases, with nine of the team’s 28 for the season. He matched teammate Bill Barczak for honors at the dish with a .521 average among the starters. Pitcher Jim Peters hit an even .500, getting a hit in half of his dozen at bats. Catcher Jim Rogahn added a longball threat to the effort.
