 /  Social Sciences/History

Social Science and History courses are designed to help students develop an understanding and appreciation of the past. A study of history and the social sciences is necessary in order that students develop and take an active role as citizens who are prepared to live in a changing and complex society.

Students will:

  • Gain knowledge, skills, and attitudes that will give them the ability to better understand the world in which they live
  • Receive a framework of knowledge relating to the events that shaped humanity, as well as the development of political, economic, and social institutions
  • Partake in a series of digital Baseline tests at the freshman and sophomore level, which are crafted in alignment with the skills and requirements tested by the AP and ACT programs

Congratulations to the Cavalier Powerlifting Team! On Saturday, seven Cavaliers competed in a powerlifting meet at Cudahy High School. Five of the seven athletes medaled, and two of those students are going to state!

“Coach Litscher and I are proud of these student athletes for the hard work and dedication to training," said powerlifting coach and STM science teacher Mike Fricke. "Strength training has a unique way of instilling confidence and growth in young men and women, and in the end that is the most important outcome anyone would want of our students at St. Thomas More High School.”

Stay tuned for more updates on our powerlifting team as some of them compete in Germantown in February and then at the state meet in Appleton on March 2 and 3.
