World Languages

The goal of the World Languages curriculum is to develop students’ understanding and appreciation for the cultural diversity of today’s world. This goal is accomplished through emphasis in five areas within each language: speaking, listening, reading, writing, and culture. Each year, students are offered opportunities to travel to countries where the target languages are spoken natively.

Students will:

  • Learn to communicate with those of another language and culture on basic levels
  • Come to understand themselves as individuals who are shaped by their culture and language
  • Become aware of current global events that affect other peoples and countries

  • Spanish 1 – 4
  • AP Spanish Language & Culture
  • Advanced Spanish 5
  • Spanish for Experienced Speakers
  • French 1 – 4
