Position Summary
:
Principal is the chief educational leader of the school and is responsible for leadership in the school’s educational programs in accordance with the school’s Catholic identity, philosophy, and vision. The principal provides primary supervision for the school’s academic, co-curricular, and student support programs and is charged with the responsibility for the day-to-day administration of the school. The principal fosters the academic and spiritual growth of students and supports the faculty, staff, and all stakeholders of St. Thomas More High School (STM). The principal works with the president and other community leaders in promoting the school philosophy and mission and developing a corresponding school climate. The principal reports directly to the president.


Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or higher from an accredited university, preferably in Educational Administration
  • Principal licensure from the State of Wisconsin
  • Current valid teaching certificate
  • Relevant teaching and directing experience
  • Knowledge of contemporary, effective educational strategies, and techniques
  • Strong Catholic identity, including the development of faith community, lifelong spiritual growth and formation
  • Ability to foster a positive team environment through strong communication skills with faculty and staff
  • Willingness to develop strong student/family relationships for the benefit of student growth and development
  • Strong work ethic to achieve department and school-related goals
  • Practicing Catholic and registered member of a Catholic parish


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Office of Catholic Schools for the Archdiocese of Milwaukee to ensure all policies and procedures are followed accordingly
  • Be responsible for all aspects of the school’s religious program in collaboration with the faculty, chaplain, and campus minister
  • Evaluate faculty members and oversee the school department budgets in collaboration with the Director of Finance
  • Create a clear set of instructional goals with resources from the Archdiocese of Milwaukee, Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction, and the STM strategic plan
  • Monitor instructional and administrative processes using data driven decision making practices and ensure the curriculum program effectively aligns with desired outcomes
  • Provide instructional resources and materials to support teaching staff in accomplishing instructional goals
  • Foster an environment of team building among staff members, students, parents, and community
  • Direct planning activities and training and put programs in place with staff to ensure attainment of school’s mission
  • Identify, analyze, and apply experience to promote school improvement, while contributing to the strategic plan
  • Communicate and promote expectations for high-level performance to staff, students, and families
  • Foster and nurture a culture of respect that celebrates multiculturalism and diversity across age, race, gender, income level and religious affiliation
  • Work directly with the Education Committee and the Board of the Directors to promote programs and policies that enrich the educational standards, cultural environment, and long-term sustainability of the school
  • Provide leadership and support to school enrichment organizations
  • Collaborate with school leadership to develop a marketing and promotion plan that positions the school for growth and stability within a competitive and complex educational marketplace
  • Build relationships in the communities of Southeastern Wisconsin to expand students’ career and college opportunities

Job Title: JV and JV2 Girls’ Volleyball Coaches, High School (two positions available)
Supervisor: Varsity Head Coach & the Athletic Director
Job Classification: Seasonal, Stipend
Start Date:  August 16, 2021

Job Summary

The JV and JV2 girls’ volleyball coaches are responsible for coaching high school student athletes in game strategies and techniques to prepare them for interscholastic volleyball competitions. Position motivates student athletes to develop an appreciation of the sport and to compete towards the next level.

Essential Duties

  1. Assesses player’s skills and assigns team
  2. Develops a regular practice schedule and organizes practice time to provide both individual and team development.
  3. Coaches and instructs players, individually and in groups, regarding the rules, regulations, equipment, and techniques of the
  4. Observes players, during competition and practice to determine the needs for individual or team improvement.
  5. Determines game strategy based on the team’s
  6. Monitors the academic performance of team members to ensure that eligibility requirements are met; and encourages student athletes to maintain a high academic
  7. Follows established procedures in the event of an athlete’s
  8. Follows state, regional, and district regulations governing the athletic
  9. Models’ sports-like behavior and maintains appropriate conduct towards players, officials, and spectators.
  10. Follows established procedures for the proper care, maintenance, and requisitioning of equipment, supplies, and
  11. Models’ nondiscriminatory behaviors and practices in all

Other Duties

  1. Attends summer league tournaments, summer camp sessions, staff development meetings, and other professional activities to improve coaching performance.
  2. Performs any other related duties as assigned by the Principal and Athletic Director or other appropriate

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities Required)
Must possess effective coaching techniques and skills. Must possess a thorough knowledge of the rules, regulations, strategies, and techniques of the sport. Must possess the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school administrators, parents, and students. Experience as a volleyball coach or assistant coach at the high school, club, or college level preferred.
