FAFSA Tips from STM’s Dean of College and Career Advancement

To apply for financial aid for college for the 2018-19 school year, you must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) on or after October 1, 2017. In the meantime, you can go to to create your FSA ID and password. Both parent and student needs their own FSA ID in order to complete the FAFSA.

The FAFSA is a required first step to become eligible for federal student loans or grants. Even if you do not qualify for federal aid, schools will use the results from your FAFSA to determine private scholarships and grants.

While parent information is needed to complete the FAFSA, students can certainly seek and apply for outside scholarships on their own, all year long! Remember never to pay for a scholarship application or search engine—there are many scams that you should avoid.

Padre Norberto Sandoval celebrated Mass with Father Christopher Klusman (TM ’95). After Communion, students in LSO performed a beautiful baile folklorico and baile Azteca. We are proud of all students for their months of hard work learning the dances, and extend special thanks to Mrs. Dorn for once again planning a wonderful Our Lady of Guadalupe Mass. ...
